City Of Greater Geelong - Asset Management and GIS
City of Greater Geelong (CoGG) are undertaking a major GIS / Asset Management project. Consulcad reviewed CoGG’s asset management strategy and provided project management and QA services for drainage data capture.

The GIS / Asset Management project was completed in various stages over a 3 year period. A vital early deliverable in Stage 1 of the project was the GeoReferencing of over 20,000 engineering drawings. This allowed CoGG to make this information available to staff and was an early win for the GIS.

United KFPW - Telstra Property Portfolio Management
United KFPW's property portfolio managers are expected to make savings of around 55% in the first two years by adopting Consulcad’s recommendation to replace a decade-old drawing management system.

United KFPW provide facility management for Telstra Corporate Property Services, handling approximately 25,000 AutoCAD files covering around 3000 sites across Australia.  Telstra outsourced the management of their property and building portfolio to United KFPW. Part of the challenge was to transport a legacy in-house developed system to a new environment.

Department of Infrastructure - Drawing Managment System to PASS

VicTrack has implemented a Drawing Management System (DMS) to manage and maintain a set of “As In Service” drawings accessible via the web.  The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) maintains a GIS / Corporate Asset Register - PASS - which is available to users via the web. Consulcad are working with DOI, VicTrack and rail stakeholders to implement the interface between the two systems, whilst maintaining data integrity and security in both systems.

The interface between the systems will allow users to conduct spatial searches in PASS, choose the Rail Assets of interest and return all drawings associated engineering drawings for that asset. Users can then select the drawing of interest and view its contents

Moreland City Council - GIS Project Management
Moreland City Council was created in 1994 from the amalgamation of the previous local governments of Brunswick, Coburg and the southern part of Broadmeadows, it covers much of inner-north Melbourne and is densely populated.

Consulcad investigated the potential of a corporate wide GIS, highlighting users needs, functionality and business case for deploying a system. A good understanding of Council organisational culture ensured we considered the needs of all the relevant stakeholders. After establishing the system and user requirement we developed the requested for tender documentation and project managed the tender evaluation process.

Department of Education and Training- TAFE Campus Management
How to manage 50 TAFE campus sites dotted all round Victoria posed a serious problems for State Education authorities. Coordinating and tracking facilities at 50 TAFE sites into one central planning unit was a major task for the State Department of Education, the project was successfully delivered with expert help from Consulcad.

Consulcad was engaged by DEET to develop specifications for the conversion of
the hardcopy drawings to an independent electronic format and to project
manage the conversion. We developed specification for both the scanning and
data capture to DWG format including electronic file naming conventions, electronic formats, data quality, data ownership, drawing projection, attribute and spatial accuracy, and quality assurance control.
