| CB Richard Ellis - Industrial Property Management | |
|
The research department from CB Richard Ellis engaged Consulcad to
design a knowledge centre to assist in the identification and management
of Industrial Properties. Consulcad project managed all phases of the
project. The project involved using GIS tools to combine Property and Town Planning data with aerial photography, to build an inventory of industrial land and buildings. This was completed in-house by specialist cartographers and GIS operators.

The relocation of the Mercy Hospital and the redevelopment of the Austin
Hospital at the same site is Victoria’s largest ever public hospital
redevelopment, is expected to last over 5 years, and has a budget of
over $375 million dollars. Consulcad established the Virtual Project
Office (VPO) system the first of its kind in Australia and involves over
100 users, both in the Project office and remotely via the web
interface. The Virtual Project Office Software will ensure that all project information is managed throughout the design and construction phases including: Drawings, Office Documents and Correspondence, CAD Files, Photos, Memos, Budget Information, RFI’s, Meeting Minutes and Document Transmittals.

| City Of Greater Geelong - Asset Management and GIS | ||

City of Greater Geelong (CoGG)
are undertaking a major GIS / Asset Management project. Consulcad
reviewed CoGG’s asset management strategy and provided project
management and QA services for drainage data capture. The GIS / Asset Management project was completed in various stages over a 3 year period. A vital early deliverable in Stage 1 of the project was the GeoReferencing of over 20,000 engineering drawings. This allowed CoGG to make this information available to staff and was an early win for the GIS.

| United KFPW - Telstra Property Portfolio Management | ||
|
United KFPW's property
portfolio managers are expected to make savings of around 55% in the
first two years by adopting Consulcad’s recommendation to replace a
decade-old drawing management system.
United KFPW provide facility management for Telstra Corporate Property Services, handling approximately 25,000 AutoCAD files covering around 3000 sites across Australia. Telstra outsourced the management of their property and building portfolio to United KFPW. Part of the challenge was to transport a legacy in-house developed system to a new environment.

| Department of Infrastructure - Drawing Managment System to PASS | ||
|
VicTrack has implemented a Drawing Management System (DMS) to manage and maintain a set of “As In Service” drawings accessible via the web. The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) maintains a GIS / Corporate Asset Register - PASS - which is available to users via the web. Consulcad are working with DOI, VicTrack and rail stakeholders to implement the interface between the two systems, whilst maintaining data integrity and security in both systems. ![]() The
interface between the systems will allow users to conduct spatial
searches in PASS, choose the Rail Assets of interest and return all
drawings associated engineering drawings for that asset. Users can then
select the drawing of interest and view its contents

Vic Track owns all land and
infrastructure in Victoria used for the purposes of public train and
tram transport. It leases these assets to private transport
operators through the Director of Public Transport. VicTrack identified a requirement to bring in house their Engineering Drawing Management which was managed and maintained by an external contractor. Consulcad develop a strategy for migrating the system and data back in-house and is providing ongoing services to assist VicTrack and the Stakeholders.

| Vic Track - Engineering Drawing Upgrades | |
| Consulcad
has carried out a series of Signal and Cable Drawing Upgrade Projects
for VicTrack. Drawings are upgraded based on priorities defined by
Stakeholders. These projects have a twofold objective; to update drawings to As In Service (AIS) - complying with newly developed CAD standards and to be uploaded to the VicTrack Drawing Management System (DMS). The DMS has recently been in-sourced from SKM as part of a separate VicTrack / Consulcad project.

| Moreland City Council - GIS Project Management | |
|
Moreland City Council was
created in 1994 from the amalgamation of the previous local governments
of Brunswick, Coburg and the southern part of Broadmeadows, it covers
much of inner-north Melbourne and is densely populated. Consulcad investigated the potential of a corporate wide GIS, highlighting users needs, functionality and business case for deploying a system. A good understanding of Council organisational culture ensured we considered the needs of all the relevant stakeholders. After establishing the system and user requirement we developed the requested for tender documentation and project managed the tender evaluation process.

How to manage 50 TAFE campus
sites dotted all round Victoria posed a serious problems for State
Education authorities. Coordinating and tracking facilities at 50 TAFE
sites into one central planning unit was a major task for the State
Department of Education, the project was successfully delivered with
expert help from Consulcad.

Emergency Communications
Victoria (ECV) is a state-owned organisation established to support the
ongoing delivery of effective emergency services to Victoria. ECV works
with Emergency Services Organisations and manages Victoria’s emergency
call taking and dispatch services. ECV’s commitment to providing high
level public safety communications in Victoria is moving into an
exciting new phase at the leading edge of emergency services
communications. Consulcad was awarded the contract based on proven methodologies and our hands on approach. Project initiation included site visits to ECV headquarters to speak with end users, this helped gaining the best understanding of what GIS improvements were required to increase operational efficiencies.

| NSW Rural Fire Service - Putting fires our faster | |
|
The role of rural fire
brigades encompasses far more than bush fires. Members are regularly
called upon to attend road accidents, assist in search and rescue
operations, and storm and flood recovery. The RFS is responsible for
structural firefighting in more than 1,200 towns and villages. Consulcad, in conjunction with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service and the Country Fire Authority Victoria, implemented Firezone, a computerised system which greatly improves the management and coordination of people and equipment.

| Victoria University - Data Capture and CAD Drafting | |
|
Victoria University has
become one of Australia's largest universities, containing 50,000+
students, 3000 staff and 11 campuses located in Melbourne’s central
business district and throughout Melbourne’s western region. To assist in their Facilities Management responsibilities, Victoria University have identified three campuses, Melton, City (Flinders St/Lane), and St Albans, for which they have no electronic floor plans. Consulcad has been invited to undertake the CAD drafting and field verification required to update the original drawings and create the dataset containing plans for every level and roof of all buildings within each campus.
