Project Â
VicRoads’ SSRIP PMO Roadmap Implementation Â
Background Â
VicRoads was engaged by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) as the Delivery Partner for the Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP), a $1.4 billion investment from the Victorian government to make roads safer. The fast-paced nature of the Program made it difficult for the VicRoads’ team to improve PMO services while continuing to deliver operational support.  Â
Our task Â
Consulcad was engaged to embed the people and process streams of the SSRIP PMO Roadmap Â
What we did Â
The Consulcad team were embedded within the SSRIP PMO team, applying organisational change management best practices to reinforce changes to PMO services including:Â Â Â
- Alignment of VicRoads team roles to PMO services Â
- Capability development for existing VicRoads team members to enable the transition to new activitiesÂ
- Facilitation of standard operating procedure development for all PMO service areas  Â
The outcome Â
Consulcad’s involvement resulted in new ways of working being realised, including: Â
- Customer-centric PMO service delivery culture Â
- Clearly defined PMO roles and process owners Â
- Documented standard operating proceduresÂ
- Consistent inductions for new staff Â
- Avoidance of recruitment and on-boarding costs through reskilling Â
- Increasing employee engagement
