Project
VicRoads’ SSRIP PMO Roadmap Implementation
Background
VicRoads was engaged by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) as the Delivery Partner for the Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP), a $1.4 billion investment from the Victorian government to make roads safer. The fast-paced nature of the Program made it difficult for the VicRoads’ team to improve PMO services while continuing to deliver operational support.
Our task
Consulcad was engaged to embed the people and process streams of the SSRIP PMO Roadmap
What we did
The Consulcad team were embedded within the SSRIP PMO team, applying organisational change management best practices to reinforce changes to PMO services including:
- Alignment of VicRoads team roles to PMO services
- Capability development for existing VicRoads team members to enable the transition to new activities
- Facilitation of standard operating procedure development for all PMO service areas
The outcome
Consulcad’s involvement resulted in new ways of working being realised, including:
- Customer-centric PMO service delivery culture
- Clearly defined PMO roles and process owners
- Documented standard operating procedures
- Consistent inductions for new staff
- Avoidance of recruitment and on-boarding costs through reskilling
- Increasing employee engagement
